Our tentative calendar of events is up on Google calendars! If you have a Gmail account, you can add our calendar to yours to view it by adding “twoperationpositivity@gmail.com" to your Google calendar. If you don’t know how to do that, we’ve whipped up a quick guide you can view here.

Currently it is not quite complete and is subject to some adjustment or change, but for those of you curious about what we have in the works, it should give you an idea!

If you know of events that are going on (and the dates with them), please feel free to submit the information to us! We’re aiming to collect the events in fandom that promote a positive atmosphere all around!

Aside from our own events, there are many organizations within our fandom that are open for interaction right now!

We’d like to remind everyone of the [tumblr.com profile] teenwolfmeta blog! You can submit to their submit area or send them an ask with the link to your meta for them to reblog. This is also a great place to scroll through for various food for thought regarding the show in general!

There is also the newer anon-submission blog, [tumblr.com profile] whyishiptw. This is a fantastic blog for submitting your reasons for shipping the pairings you ship. Just send them an ask with your pairing and reason and they will take care of the rest! Get over there and spread some love for your favorite pairings!

Of course there is always the lovely [tumblr.com profile] powerofhumanlove blog, which takes complimentary anon asks about fans in the Teen Wolf fandom! Even if you forget and send your ask non-anon, they will leave names out of their graphics. Go spread some love around for your fellow fans!

If you know of other positive influences in the Teen Wolf fandom, we would love to hear about them and advertise them here!

Okay wolf pack, LISTEN UP. It’s time to start howling!

Welcome to Operation Positivity! One of our goals is to help spread news of the good things going on in fandom, and today we have something awesome and special to announce!

A Bite Off Center is the currently hosted Rare Pairs Trope Fest!

We encourage you to drop by their Tumblr or Livejournal to read up on the event, or to send a tweet with their Twitter name (@abiteoffcenter) to help them spread the news! Reblog a banner, tell your friends!

What is a rare pairs trope fest?

In this instance, it is a week long festival (starting July 11th) of prompt creation for all of the “rare" pairings in Teen Wolf, followed by a week long prompt-claiming period. Then participants will be released back into their natural habitats to go forth and create new works for the rare pairs of our fandom. Creation in a positive way like this is what Operation Positivity is all about, so we urge you to join in! Send some prompts this week, and go claim a couple next week! There will be plenty to go around!

The actual rules and the schedule for the event can be found by clicking here.

How do we know if our pairing is a “rare" pair?

EASY. They’re defining rare pairs as any pairing with less than 2k stories on AO3, which disqualifies both Scallison and Sterek; but everything else is fair game! They’ll even let you include Scott/Allison and Stiles/Derek in equal-relationship OT3 writing, because the folks running this for you are awesome.

So, whether you rock the rare pairs naturally or are a multi-shipper from the common pair fandoms, now is your chance to get in on some rare pair action!

What do they mean by “trope" fest?

A trope is any common plot device. For example my favorite (FAVORITE FAVORITE) trope is probably fake boyfriends (girlfriends/lovers). There are others like sex pollen, or teacher/student relationships, fuck-or-die, amnesia, body swap, and many others. If you want to read up on Tropes (or hey, see a list you can pick and choose ideas from) you can click here!

So basically they are aiming for simple, common storylines for the rare pair relationships.

Is this festival only for fanfiction?

Heck no! If you create it, they’ve got you covered! We’re going to use their description of what they’re looking for from each sort of creator and paste it here, but you can find the whole list of rules on the A Bite Off Center Livejournal!

Art (traditional, graphic, manip): A minimum of one completed piece, not a WIP, sketch or a draft
Fic: A minimum of 5,000 words and a maximum of 15,000 words
Fanmix: A minimum of ten songs, each tied to the prompted trope(s)
Fanvid: A minimum of three minutes in length
Podfic: Recording of a fanwork at least 3,500 words in length

If you create something else and you’re not on the list above, we’re sure that their mods, [tumblr.com profile] hardticket or [tumblr.com profile] otta_ff would love a message from you! Don’t be shy, they’re SUPER NICE and friendly~!

How can I help spread the word?

Well that’s easy too! Go drop by the [tumblr.com profile] abiteoffcenter and reblog/post one of their really cute graphics! Or better yet, if you're on tumblr, make a brand new post to put in the tags about the festival. Send a tweet. Tell your friends. Write a teaser or make a graphic.

Of course, if you write, draw, edit, vid, mix, or pod, we whole heartedly encourage you to get out there and volunteer! Send a prompt to their Tumblr this week- heck, send 5. Just 5 though.

Even if you aren’t participating by their rules, you can show your love of the rare pairs this week to go along with the festival spirit by contributing works or advertising it in case there is someone who hasn’t heard that would like to participate.

We’re a big fandom and sometimes it takes a chain of howls to reach all the corners. So we’re starting it, and we’re asking for your help to pass on the howl for all to hear!

We are just starting to get off the ground, so please be patient with us!

What is Operation Positivity?

Operation Positivity (OP) is a movement within the Teen Wolf fandom put forth to give fans a way to focus their love and creative energies into positive actions. It began with a couple of fans who wanted to improve their own spaces and dashboards, and spread from there. The Teen Wolf fandom has the capability to be a wonderful, positive place; Operation Positivity is here to support and showcase this.

How will Operation Positivity be working toward this goal?

Right now we are still in the planning stages. We have a few ideas about the ways that people can help us work toward the goal of bringing light, hope, and positive vibes to the fandom as a whole.

We are working for sure on creating a schedule of character and pairing appreciation weeks. These weeks will focus on a character, a group of characters, or a pairing in the fandom, and for that week we will ask the Teen Wolf fandom to work toward creating positive things centered around a given week’s focus. We have seen many people begin these weeks at random, and of course we won’t discourage anyone who wants to host a week out of synch with our schedule.

Along with that, from February to October we will be hosting a monthly Creation Week. We will create and maintain a master list of authors, artists, gif makers, photo manipulators and other creation-centered fans who are willing to take askbox prompts for the week and encourage the fandom as a whole to create more positive fanworks to post into the Operation Positivity tag along with their individual tags.

We are also going to be (and have already started) reaching out to the positive forces in our fandom. If you want to reach out to us first, our askbox is open. We would love to support and aid any other positive movement in the fandom.

This is not an finished list by any means. It is our starting line, and our admins are going to work together as well as work with fandom to create positive events and movements within the Teen Wolf sphere. If you have an idea about how we can help spread positive energy, please come and talk to us! We’re going to need a little time and help to get off the ground, so please stick with us as we grow and adapt!

How can people help right now?

Right now Operation Positivity is in a state of free form. The tag is open to all forms of positive creation within the Teen Wolf fandom, and we encourage you to use it to post something positive about the fandom.

What sort of things should people be posting right now?

If you have had a positive experience in the Teen Wolf fandom, write it out and leave it on the tag (you can also submit it to myteenwolfexperience.tumblr.com). If there is someone in fandom you are grateful for, leave a thank you in the tag, leave a link to their blog for others to find.

If you write, write something. Write a drabble, write a ficlet. Write some meta. Write a poem, write a song. Open your askbox to prompts or find a free-ranging prompt on your favorite tag and grant someone’s wish.

If you make art, make art. Doodle something, sketch something, color something. Illustrate a scene in a fic you enjoyed. Create a scene for someone to write a story about. Open your askbox to prompts or find a free-ranging prompt on your favorite tag and grant a wish.

If you make gifs or edit photos, make some gifs or edit some photos. Make a set. Turn a set into a story. Give someone feels over a slow motion scene. Scribe meaningful lyrics over a photo. Open your askbox to prompts or find a free-ranging prompt on your favorite tag and grant a wish.

If you make videos or sing songs, make videos! Sing songs! If you make jewelry or paint objects or really, whatever you do that is creative, go do it. Share with us. Post to your tag and post to our tag (Operation Positivity) and spread that love around.

Reach out, regardless of whatever else you are doing. Recommend a fic you enjoyed. Find an artist and reblog some artwork, or make a post linking to their tumblr or art tag (do not repost their artwork). Send an anon message of love to someone you follow or to someone who follows you. Send an anon message of love to someone doing something positive on your tag. Find someone new to the fandom, and extend a hand to help them find their way around. You have love; share it.

The most important thing here is to be positive.

We shouldn’t have to say this, but we are going to just in case.

What we shouldn’t see from anyone who is participating in Operation Positivity in any way, is hatred or negativity. We are not going to be policing anyone; if you are with us in our endeavor, we expect you to behave respectfully in all interactive formats. If you are joining us, we hope that you are taking a stance of saying “No" to the negativity that sometimes infects our fandom by keeping it out of the tags and off your blog. We are here to create, not tear down.

Together, we are going to move forward. Together, we are going to make our fandom the place we want it to be. Together, we are going to help one another to learn and grow and be at peace with all parts of our fandom. We are a pack, all of us, and it is time for us to be the pack we have always wanted see.
