We are just starting to get off the ground, so please be patient with us!
What is Operation Positivity?Operation Positivity (OP) is a movement within the Teen Wolf fandom put forth to give fans a way to focus their love and creative energies into positive actions. It began with a couple of fans who wanted to improve their own spaces and dashboards, and spread from there. The Teen Wolf fandom has the capability to be a wonderful, positive place; Operation Positivity is here to support and showcase this.
How will Operation Positivity be working toward this goal?Right now we are still in the planning stages. We have a few ideas about the ways that people can help us work toward the goal of bringing light, hope, and positive vibes to the fandom as a whole.
We are working for sure on creating a schedule of character and pairing appreciation weeks. These weeks will focus on a character, a group of characters, or a pairing in the fandom, and for that week we will ask the Teen Wolf fandom to work toward creating positive things centered around a given week’s focus. We have seen many people begin these weeks at random, and of course we won’t discourage anyone who wants to host a week out of synch with our schedule.
Along with that, from February to October we will be hosting a monthly Creation Week. We will create and maintain a master list of authors, artists, gif makers, photo manipulators and other creation-centered fans who are willing to take askbox prompts for the week and encourage the fandom as a whole to create more positive fanworks to post into the Operation Positivity tag along with their individual tags.
We are also going to be (and have already started) reaching out to the positive forces in our fandom. If you want to reach out to us first, our askbox is open. We would love to support and aid any other positive movement in the fandom.
This is not an finished list by any means. It is our starting line, and our admins are going to work together as well as work with fandom to create positive events and movements within the Teen Wolf sphere. If you have an idea about how we can help spread positive energy, please come and talk to us! We’re going to need a little time and help to get off the ground, so please stick with us as we grow and adapt!
How can people help right now?Right now Operation Positivity is in a state of free form. The tag is open to all forms of positive creation within the Teen Wolf fandom, and we encourage you to use it to post something positive about the fandom.
What sort of things should people be posting right now?If you have had a positive experience in the Teen Wolf fandom, write it out and leave it on the tag (you can also submit it to myteenwolfexperience.tumblr.com). If there is someone in fandom you are grateful for, leave a thank you in the tag, leave a link to their blog for others to find.
If you write, write something. Write a drabble, write a ficlet. Write some meta. Write a poem, write a song. Open your askbox to prompts or find a free-ranging prompt on your favorite tag and grant someone’s wish.
If you make art, make art. Doodle something, sketch something, color something. Illustrate a scene in a fic you enjoyed. Create a scene for someone to write a story about. Open your askbox to prompts or find a free-ranging prompt on your favorite tag and grant a wish.
If you make gifs or edit photos, make some gifs or edit some photos. Make a set. Turn a set into a story. Give someone feels over a slow motion scene. Scribe meaningful lyrics over a photo. Open your askbox to prompts or find a free-ranging prompt on your favorite tag and grant a wish.
If you make videos or sing songs, make videos! Sing songs! If you make jewelry or paint objects or really, whatever you do that is creative, go do it. Share with us. Post to your tag and post to our tag (Operation Positivity) and spread that love around.
Reach out, regardless of whatever else you are doing. Recommend a fic you enjoyed. Find an artist and reblog some artwork, or make a post linking to their tumblr or art tag (do not repost their artwork). Send an anon message of love to someone you follow or to someone who follows you. Send an anon message of love to someone doing something positive on your tag. Find someone new to the fandom, and extend a hand to help them find their way around. You have love; share it.
The most important thing here is to be positive.
————We shouldn’t have to say this, but we are going to just in case.
What we shouldn’t see from anyone who is participating in Operation Positivity in any way, is hatred or negativity. We are not going to be policing anyone; if you are with us in our endeavor, we expect you to behave respectfully in all interactive formats. If you are joining us, we hope that you are taking a stance of saying “No" to the negativity that sometimes infects our fandom by keeping it out of the tags and off your blog. We are here to create, not tear down.
Together, we are going to move forward. Together, we are going to make our fandom the place we want it to be. Together, we are going to help one another to learn and grow and be at peace with all parts of our fandom. We are a pack, all of us, and it is time for us to be the pack we have always wanted see.
